My 50 or so Outlooks on Life
This is my “outlook on life” as a 50-something woman, mommy, wife, daughter, dreamer and…and! You get it. Right??
♥ Kids respond to hearing, “I love you”…get in their face about it when they are teens!
♥ Archive your life…you never know when you’ll need the information
♥ Nettles sting…especially if your stupid brother pushes you into them ![]()
♥ It really is okay to admit you are wrong
♥ Look a person in the eyes when they are talking to you…shake their hand when it is called for
♥ Start a tradition in your family…my mother-in-law collected Christmas ornaments for her boys, we got the box of memories our 1st year of marriage
♥ 52 card pick-up is no fun…unless you are the giver ![]()
♥ I’ve fallen in love with taking food photography…even if a bazillion shots results in just “that one”
♥ Find something to be passionate about…always and forever give it your all
♥ My dogs love me…unconditionally (Can’t we all just get along?)
♥ Forgiving and forgetting releases you
♥ Mixing bread with my hands is better than any psycho-therapy session
♥ Chai tea is awesome with a touch of honey and 1/2 & 1/2
♥ Smile…even if you think it’s going to hurt
♥ Mistakes always should equal lessons learned
♥ You have a right to speak up for yourself…breathe, choose then your words
♥ I looked hot cha-cha in a bikini…at 16 ![]()
♥ My husband is one of the good guys…bonus, he always makes me laugh
♥ People love to laugh…break the ice, share funny stuff about your life situations
♥ Don’t ever drink and drive!
♥ Take responsibility for your actions, people don’t wanna hear your excuses!
♥ Sitting down for Sunday night dinner with your family is a good thing
♥ A good cry usually heals what ails you
♥ I love puppy breath and kisses
♥ Plants die if you don’t water them
♥ As a kid, if you cuss in front of your brother…guaranteed one of your folks will hear about it
♥ Be kind to everyone you meet…give em’ that extra mile
♥ Playing spin the bottle does not always turn out the way you thought it shoulda, woulda, coulda!
♥ Honesty IS the best policy!
♥ Offer your shoulder for someone to cry on…someday you might need theirs
♥ Stinky feet and ‘fluffs’ can usually clear a room!
♥ Corn on the cob at the fair is a must-have
♥ I LOVE my iPod!
♥ You can make something spectacular for dinner with 3-4 ingredients from the pantry/fridge…just add your imagination and a few spices
♥ If it feels too good to be true , trust your instinct…red flag it – check it out – ask family and friends about it
♥ I try really hard to remind myself during tough times that ‘this too shall pass’!
♥ When someone compliments you simply say, “Thank you!”…they don’t need to know that your butt is too big or you really should have changed your hair color ![]()
♥ Sing out loud, as often as you can
♥ Elderly people have a lot to share if you take the time to listen
♥ Changing your outlook…changes your life!
♥ Cats are fickle, persnickety, and oh so loveable…hmm sounds like someone I know intimately
♥ I’ve learned to say ‘no’…well most of the time ![]()
♥ Don’t eat yellow snow…ever!
♥ Generally people are good…give them a chance!
♥ Always put a dance into your step!
♥ Whenever you say you are sorry, mean it!
♥ Penny candy, as we knew it in the 60′s, is gone forever
♥ Your children probably will may break your heart…it never means you love them any less!
♥ My first instinct has usually been right
