I could not agree more. Here in the mid-Atlantic we are seeing a huge demand for locally sourced foods.
Our weekly visits to local farmers markets allow us access to an ever-changing array of foods. Even though not much is being harvested yet, there are a few fresh local products and some excellent values on cool weather crops.
In April we found the last of the 2009 sweet potatoes, which were of excellent quality. We also had some wonderful winter greens. In addition to produce, our markets have garden plants and even items such as farm fresh eggs and honey.
